What Does it Take to Be Happy?
Michael Jacobs blogs have been particularly thoughtful of late, making me think about things. Yesterday he talked a bit about uncertainty. Another blog was a review of the new Van Gogh movie, At Eternity's Gate. Funny how things come together in one's brain. In pondering it, which is something Michael does often, I imagine, ponder, that is, from what I know about Vincent Van Gogh, he was not a very happy person. Tortured, is more like it.
When it comes to uncertainty, I think people end to shy away from it. We like routine and certainty. Not to have it means we're out there on a tightrope, doing the best we can to get from point A to point B, without knowing what will happen. But that's what life is about. And if you embrace uncertainty, you just might discover happiness.
