Staging FAQ’s- What Can I Do If I Don’t Have a Lot Of Furnishings in My Home?
 
Not every home I’ve consulted on has been stuffed to the gills. Believe it or not, there have been a few homes that were seriously lacking items that would have helped add color and texture to the home.
 
One of the first properties I staged had very little in the way of extra furnishings and very little color as well. The sellers had moved most of their belongings to their new home in another state and did not want to spend another dime on their current house.
 
So what can a seller do if they don’t have a lot of extras to help create the mood of their house and their budget is limited?
 
 
1. Curb Appeal
Create the mood BEFORE a buyer walks in.  Make sure that dead plants are removed, bushes and shrubs trimmed, weeds removed, and there are some welcoming plants at the front door.
Investment: Sweat equity + some plants
 
2.Spend some time at your front door
Buyers and their agent will spend some time at the front door while they are attempting to get in.  Make them feel welcomed with a fresh doormat and updated ... more
