Just a Thought...Why Not Just Smile and Move On?

Just a Thought...Why Not Just Smile and Move On?

When  I was a little girl, if something was served for dinner that I didn’t like, I was taught not to make a big show of not liking it.

Just don’t eat it. Don’t push it all to one side of the plate and separate it as if it were a crime scene.
It would have been rude to say for example “I don’t like cauliflower.” It would also have been very obvious if I’d made a point of eating everything but what was pushed all the way to one side of the plate. What purpose would it serve?

This doesn’t just occur at the dinner table but in other life situations.

Unless specifically asked is it always necessary to let your opinion to the contrary be known?

We see it in social media comments (including ActiveRain) and I often wonder what is it the person is hoping to achieve.

Is it to show some kind of superiority? Is there some kind of narcissistic need to make everything about them?

We all see this in comments on Facebook ... more
