I'm not so sure about my July 4th article
Every time I think I have this blogging thing figured out, I get a curve ball.
 
So last week there was a google core algo update.  Yuck.  It's the first time Google announced an update ahead of time
 
Thankfully my Google traffic only dropped 15%...and miraculously my affiliate income (which mainly comes well SEO traffic) only declined maybe 5-7%, so it could have been worse.  While this blogging thing is a bit of a rollercoaster, my traffic and income keeps growing.  It's very clear when you step back and compare yourself vs where you were same time last year.
 
Anyway, my blog's traffic always declines from about Mid November to Dec 26th...every year.  I think my worst days are Christmas, followed byThanksgiving and New Year's Day.  I think that's the right order.  Then, the next worst day of the year is July 4th.  In fact that whole week is pretty bad as it's a big vacation week.  (Labor Day weekend is pretty bad, too).
 
It makes sense.  People are away and/or outside, spending time with friends and family.  So I expect this.
 
But as a blogger, I don't love it as my traffic and income decline then.  So, I try to supplement w/ some articles that ... more
