Friday Fun: A Perfect Pairing of Wine and Cheese!

When we bought a cheese plate at Rusack winery it included this cheese pictured above.  It was the first time we had tasted it.  What is great about it is that when it is sliced, the blue (Stilton) crumbles onto the double Gloucester.  You get just the perfect amount of blue cheese taste with the Gloucester.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes:
From one of Santa Barbara County's great growing regions, the RUSACK 2015 Solomon Hills Pinot Noir captures some of this region’s classic characteristics. The bouquet opens with hints of violet while bold notes of black cherry and raspberry follow through on the palate. The sweet silky tannins make for a round and approachable wine that is also age worthy.
 
 
Since this is a boutique winery only 1250 cases produced.  If you can find it at your local wine store,  we highly recommend it.
