Reasonably Priced & Highly Rated Red Wine For the Weekend!

We have been enjoying a variety of Malbec wines from Argentina's famed Mendoza area as well as other areas nearby. Pictured above is a 2016 Malbec from the Trapiche Area in Argentina.  Even though it has a high rating of 90 Wine rating by James Suckling, (renown wine critic) it is reasonably priced. We have notices that Argentinian Malbecs are proudly displaying their ratings on the cork label, which is very helpful to the consumers.

Malbec is a black-skinned grape variety native to southwestern France, but now better known as the iconic wine grape of Argentina. Through its success in the vineyards of Mendoza, in a few short decades Malbec has shot from relative obscurity to international fame, simultaneously bringing newfound attention and respect to Argentina as a wine-producing nation.
Winemaker Notes Intense purple red color with ruby hues. Aromas of fresh red and black fruits, floral notes, and earthy minerals, with an elegant touch of smoke. Rich and spicy on the palate providing a long and pleasant finish. Ideal to serve with grilled red meats, stews, pasta with mushroom sauce, and cheeses.
We have seen it priced as high as $14.99, and our friend Jane of Carpinteria Wine prices it at $11.99.
