 We love the idea of living in a home located  on tree-lined residential city  street in Brooklyn.  Unfortunely some of those trees and their roots systems over the years of growth  have damaged our sidwalks. Resulting in costly repairs at the expense of the property owner. 
 
Brooklyn Homeowner did you know that NYC will no longer issue a sidewalk violation (1-3 family homes ) to you if the damage is cause by a city tree.   NYC Department of Transportation and the Parks Department will be responsible for  inspecting and fixing damaged sidewalks caused by city trees. 
Have an outstanding Violation /lien caused by a city tree
Existing violations and liens caused by city trees that meet  certain criteria will be cancelled.  If you have a violation you may call and request an inspection.
