3 "Fs" and a "D" - can that be good?
Rarely do we think that a "D" or heaven forbid an "F" is good, but that's the recipe for our 2019 vacations: 
Family, Friends, Fun and Driving
Living in San Francisco, I use my car infrequently in the City, reserving its use primarily when working in San Mateo County and the Silicon Valley or going to trail heads for a good hike. I love the car-free lifestyle, but I love driving, too, and 2019 is the year of the car trip to visit family and friends, and have lots of fun along the way.
In January, we drove from San Francisco to Palm Desert CA to visit a brother-in-law (and do some real estate while there.)
In May we flew to the East Coast, then drove to New Jersey, Annapolis MD, Pittsburgh PA and back to Newark - visiting another brother-in-law, a good friend and accountability partner, and a brother. Hikes in Pittsburgh, exploring upper Manhattan and the Cloisters, visiting Falling Water and the 911 memorial at Shankesville PA, all memorable.
Our recent trip in September took us to the Pacific Northwest, visiting 6 different sets of friends, a sister-in-law, niece and family and another brother. One daughter and son-in-law met us in Elko and drove home with ... more
