One year ago today 10/9 Arcade
I leave early in the morning to walk out of Porrino, not sure how far I will walk today depending on my leg. Come across this statue on my way out of town.
I love walking early in the morning and seeing the sun come up, it is so peaceful. I am walking on my own, and have some hills to walk today. But it is exciting to watch the sun rise on the hills in the distance and slowly make its way across the land to where you are. Very eerie.
I am walking alone this morning and arrive at a cafe opposite an albergue where many of my friends stayed last night. An older gentleman comes in and orders a drink, the sun is barely up. But he enjoys it and then goes on his way.
I come across this walking sculpture/maze alongside the trail. I realize the large Portuguese group are ahead of me and I walk faster to put them behind me.
My guidebook speaks today about how steep the incline is walking down this hill. I am glad I have my hiking pole, but at least it is mainly on road or track.
