RESCUE is Hard.......
In the last month I have found three different dogs that needed homes and I applied to adopt them. The first two were unsuccessful. Neither dog was young but both were cute. Last week I found and applied for a senior dog whose owner died. I was hopeful but not foolish. I have excellent references, wrote a good narrative on the application and had a couple of emails with the director of the rescue.
Today I had a call and was excited but I am one of seven people who they approved for this elderly sweetheart. She is in Connecticut about two hours away and it isn't practical for me to bring my whole gang down unless it is a go. There is a local person who will have a meet and greet and if that doesn't work then I am next in line. If this girl is as special as represented I can't imagine she won't be happy with number one. I am bummed but dealing. If it is meant to be, it will happen and if not I have three special dogs already.
