A thought for Friday afternoon
The following was in my email a few days ago, and I've been thinking about it ever since.
Gratitude Reminder
Gratitude eliminates fear, worry, grief, and depression, and brings happiness, kindness,
compassion, understanding, and peace of mind.
If gratitude was a mandatory subject in schools we would see a generation of children advance
our civilization and bring peace to the world.

I started daydreaming about a world where school teachers started each morning with their classes by having them write in an ongoing journal entitled "Gratitude."
The assignment each morning would be to state two things for which they are grateful, and explain why. Then maybe follow it with writing the answer to "What's the best thing that happened yesterday?"
The children who are too young to write yet could just tell the class - or perhaps draw a picture of something they're grateful for.
I know - daydreams. But what if parents started doing that with their children? What if instead of grumbling and complaining we shared positive thoughts with our kids every day. What if dinner table discussions (assuming that some people still do have those) were about what went right today?
