Gratitude is..........#3
I have so much to be grateful for. Among these gifts is my health. I remember my Mother, of blessed memory, always saying without your health you have nothing. The older I get the more I appreciate the truth of these words.
I am currently older than my Dad was when he passed. My Mother died at 75 and was relatively healthy until a heart attack took her on Thanksgiving. So as I approach each day I start with being grateful that I am able to do the things I do and travel the paths I have chosen. Health is not a gift given to everyone and I grieve the friends and family who were taken way too soon.
My closest friend Karin died in her forties of a brain tumor that took her quickly and without warning. She left two little children, a loving husband, parents, sisters and friends who still find it hard to believe she is gone. She was talented in so many ways and absolutely fit and healthy until she wasn't. 
When Karin died, I understood the old saw that life wasn't fair, and eventually came to the understand that every moment we are given is a gift and never ... more
