Grateful for the love of my spouse - Week #4
I've had a rough week--nothing major--just hard. Tuesday morning I woke with a sore throat and very tired. By Wednesday I had to acknowledge I was sick. To top it off, Wednesday evening I jammed my toe into the edge of a door--the swelling and bruising is shocking and walking is almost impossible. I hope it is only a bad bone bruise and nothing worse.
And then - the cancellations had to begin:
I canceled my Thursday morning volunteer stint serving breakfast at Glide in San Francisco My assistant had to keep several business appointments for me Next I dropped out of a lunch with about 15-20 women I hiked with 25 or so years ago, many of whom I see only every few years Then I had to skip a concert my husband and I planned to attend on Friday evening We canceled plans for friends to join us yesterday for a City hike and lunch. Yesterday, knowing how badly I was feeling and how important getting some sunshine and fresh air is, my husband suggested a car ride.
So, armed with a box of tissues, a scarf, and extra jacket off we went, with a visit planned to the little seaside ... more
