When Beauty Meets Inconvenience - Thanksgiving Snow Storm
Over Thanksgiving we got one heckuva snow storm here in Lake Arrowhead, dumping about an inch of snow an hour. It was absolutely beautiful to watch. The pines all flocked with snow and there seemed to be no beginning or end to driveways and everything snow covered all around us. Snow Valley was literally snowed in as roads were blocked getting to them. Many roads were closed or strictly open to residents and chains were required on all vehicles ( known as R3 conditions) on all mountain roads. Even the though the plows were out, most secondary roads were not accessible. 
Everything was and is so white. It looks stunning. It's beautiful watching out the windows next to a crackling fire that just sets the tone for a beautiful winter night, snuggled up here in the mountains. Then, power lines started coming down and wide spread power outages were reported across the mountain. The snow became too heavy and mother nature with her beautiful furry won this battle. Diligently crews are out, in the cold, on the slick roads, trying to bring back the convenience we often take for granted.
