Abu Simbel Temple
Sheila Anderson travels to some wonderful places and I am always glad that she shares her journey's with us!
There are many places in the world where jaws drop and you feel as if you are in another time. Abu Simbel Temple is one. This required special effort to see because getting there was timely and tough, but then.......the magic begun. It is impossible to describe the enormity  of the place or the feeling you get upon first seeing it. I was really excited to see the Pyramids, and the Sphinz, but Abu Simbel is simply overwhelming in every way. 
It was reclaimed from the floodwaters of the Aswan high Dam and totally reconstructed in its present location. Hard to believe how it could have been built once, moving it and reconstructing it seems impossible.

If you ever thought about colossal, this is where the word was invented.
