"Winter" of 2020 started in autumn of 2019, with Door County experiencing snow by Halloween and January-like temperatures by mid-November. So it's always a good time to remind Buyers (and Sellers) what to expect when searching for a Door County home from October through April, especially when we are in the middle of a prolonged thaw in January 2020---it's a great time to be a Door County home buyer.
This is also a PEAK time to be a Seller, because there is much less competition on the market, allowing your property to shine more than in the summer months. Together, we work with Buyers to help them find their dream property, and are grateful for our Sellers that keep their inventory on market in the winter months. I just had four (4) of my Door County properties go under contract in January 2020, showing that our Door County Buyers are INDEED year-round.
Seller safety: Make sure your driveway is properly plowed and the walk shoveled and de-iced, if necessary. Sometimes even the best boots cause slips and falls. However, Buyers also have to be prepared for homes that are not plowed or shoveled.
