The 2 car garage being the absolute standard & depending on square footage a 3 car garage becomes a must. People here in the Midwest just love their 3 car garages. Every owner you ask always has a smile while they are talking about it - like another favorite child!
 
Patios, decks are a must with brick pavers being the most favored now. Engineered decks & fences are also becoming more common because of less maintenance.
