Morning Edition for 5/18/2020 - A Motivational New Day
 
"If you want your life, you have to go out and get it." Those were the words of a mother I saw this morning on a motivational YouTube. Her adult son lost his mouth, his teeth, and all of his limbs due to a different type of virus. For more than two years he went through daily medical procedures. 
 
The young man has been struggling and challenged beyond imagination. Today, he has prosthetics, a wife, and a son. He gets around on a bicycle designed for him. Like many people, I have been wary about getting out of the house and to resume the things I have always enjoyed doing. Before the sun rose today, I was out the door walking on the trails. At 6:28 a.m. I captured the sunrise. It was as if a giant egg yolk dropped out of the sky to give me exactly what I needed - my life back. If a man without limbs can do it. So can I. So can you.
 
As the sun rose higher, I began to see more clearly. In the big scheme of life, there has to be more than a lonesome duck. We are social creatures. Man is not born ... more
