Why We Remember
It Seems Appropriate to Reblog this post I wrote a few years back.  I'm feeling a bit emotional today and grateful and nostalgic.  
I can't remember a time where I didn't cry when "Taps" was played.  The slow, simple bugle cadence, with it's mournful sound, goes straight to my heart, my very soul.  It is, in it's simplicity, a universal reminder to us, to pause, reflect and remember those courageous men and women who have died to protect our freedoms.  I want to say thank you, from my heart for your service.  I am eternally grateful

It is not wars that we are remembering with this national holiday.
