The Devil's Love Affair With 2020

I suspect there are more than few folks who wish to gladly kick 2020 to the curb, and welcome 2021 with open arms.  I certainly know I'm one of those who is.  While, there have been the 2020 blessing of spending time in isolation to contemplating thing in life of greater importance, there's also been an avalanche of tragedy. 
The pandemic found way to my family in March.  My daughter, her husband and my grandson, all contracted Covid-19.  My son-in-law fared best.  My grandson, suffered what seemed like severe flu.  It has been my daughter who we label a "long-hauler," who has struggled most.  However, she is slowly regaining strength, while fighting this thing each day.  Her taste and smell have returned somewhat.  Her shortness of breath and fatigue are improving. 
California also experienced its share of wildfires in 2020.  And, the nation has gone through a divisive presidential campaign and election!
However, on this last evening of the year, I am looking forward to 2021 with hope!  I am one of those folks, who believes life will begin return to normalcy with the advent of coronavirus vaccines coming our way.  I'm also hopeful, we will find ways to heal political divide, and ... more
