Monday Musings: Satori--Going Out of Your Mind!

Ron and I have recently been refocused on Zen Buddhism, which is also known as Japanese Buddhism.  We like their words which explain the concepts of beauty and meditation. 
 
Satori (悟り) is a Japanese Buddhist term for awakening, "comprehension; understanding". It is derived from the Japanese verb satoru. In the Zen Buddhist tradition, satori refers to the experience of kenshō, "seeing into one's true nature ". Ken means "seeing," shō means "nature" or "essence". Wikipedia
 
In Western terms Satori is meditation and mindfulness.  In scientific terms it is an increase in Alpha Waves in the brain brought about by meditation and mindfulness. The result is deep relaxation. Whichever one you choose, in our opinion, it is necessary to maintaining one's health and well being.
