Kauai Real Estate Update for Hanalei and Haena Single-Family Homes 9/16/08

The weather on the north shore of Kauai has been stellar lately. Those who love to kayak the Na Pali Coast still had the opportunity to do so last weekend before a swell moved in on Sunday afternoon. Then, just across the street from me, at what we call "Ike's beach" (for my famous golden retriever), near the Y camp (Camp Naue), neighbors - young and old alike - were out having a blast on their boogie boards, paddle boards and surf boards.

Since my last posting on Sept. 8th, there are no new homes on the market between Hanalei and Haena. And, two of the homes that had been on the market are now off the market.
#1. After 353 days on the market, the 5 bedroom/5bath Hanalei home at 5-5522 Kuhio Hwy, asking $3,395,000, was withdrawn on Sept. 15th.
#2. After 549 days on the market, the listing for the 3 bedroom home at 4522 Uku Lii Place (Wainiha), asking $1,099,000, expired.
There was a time when finding a home between Hanalei to Haena for under $1 million was highly unlikely. Today there are four homes on the market priced between $799,000 (MLS #209531, 3 bedroom/3 bath ... more
