MARYLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS NEED TO INCLUDE FINANCIAL LITERACY IN THEIR CURRICULUM

I have been saying this for years and years and years, and it appears that the Maryland Association of Realtors feel the same way.  Maryland's public schools need to include financial literacy in their current school curriculums.  Kids need to learn what credit is and how it is established.  They also need to learn about different loan programs and how to calculate their payments.  They should also include learning about the benefits to homeownership verses renting.  Many of our children grow up in homes with parents who don't know this kind of information and are raised being lifelong renters.  How awesome would it be for a kid to come home from school and teach their parent(s) about what they can do to achieve the AMERICAN DREAM of Home Ownership.  I think MAR is onto something here and am glad to see that they are holding a meeting to state the benefits here.  I mean when is the last time you had to know what angle an isoceles triangle was in REAL LIFE ?
