It’s Superbowl 2009 and You’re Having An Open House…Or ARE You?!
I generated a good bit of interesting discussion 2 years ago TODAY with a post about the value, or not, of holding homes open on Superbowl Sunday. 
Superbowl Sunday - A Great Day to Have an Open House...Or Is It?
The market has shifted quite a bit since then - prices have dropped a lot, we have many more short sales, foreclosures, and REO's, and the economy has been turned on its head.
Oh, and the Bears and Colts were playing. J 
So, with all that, does this have an impact on holding an open house on one of your listings on perhaps the biggest sports event day of the year? 
We have seen many technology advances since then, so perhaps there is more and better marketing that can and should be done Many have de-cried the value of open houses anyhow...some don't do them at all...and with the popularity of the game, many consumers (i.e., sellers) don't want to leave their big screen TV, or miss the game by going to Open Houses (but then there's TIVO but it's not the same) Expecting to see potential buyers show up at a vacant home (often the case for distress homes and ... more
