I recently encountered Paul Webster on Facebook. We both grew up in Livermore CA and have been trading contacts back and forth. Paul joined ActiveRain back in November 2007, but like so many others never ventured beyond creating his profile. Now he's jumped in, head first, and I want all of you to make him feel welcomed.
When I first joined Facebook, I wasn't all that impressed. I felt like it was just a grown-up version of MySpace, only without the webcam hottie pop-ups. Like many social networks, it appeared to be another time-waster, without much in the way of business-related value. But I kept coming back. Gradually it's become one of the predominant venues that I participate on actively.
Sometimes that's the way it goes with social media. Things morph and change over time. We don't see the ROI initially, but over time, things start to make sense.
If you know someone who joined ActiveRain a while back, but never got any further than simply setting up their profile, give them a call. Encourage them to jump in, head first!
