real estate marketing: What's on your For Sale and Open House signs? - 01/28/11 12:32 PM
Here's an area that I think most REALTORS aren't taking advantage of -one of your most useful marketing tools - your FOR SALE signs! Think about it for a second - what does your Open House sign look like? Does it have any of your information on it at all? I see so many Open House signs advertising the Real Estate Company and logo - but what about the REALTOR? You're the one doing all the dirty work - lugging those signs out, sacrificing your weekends. So what gives?
My advice? Brand those signs! Throw your website on as well as … (2 comments)

real estate marketing: Why I love these Websites... LOVE!! - 01/24/11 03:45 PM

First of all - let me start by saying that I am not an employee of MyRealPage. But a blog about how much I love them is completely overdue....
I've gotta say, I've seen a lot of template websites in my real estate lifetime - I've been a paying client of both Point2 and Ubetor... MyRealPage has won my heart... here's why:
1) Nice PROFESSIONAL templates and VERY easy to work with. Of course, like anything - it's going to take a few times doing something till you really get the hang of it.. but once you do, it's really … (4 comments)

real estate marketing: You can lead a REALTOR to technology – but you can’t make them tweet! Or maybe you can.... - 01/18/11 11:46 AM

Just some reflection of a thought that I’ve had for a few months now regarding REALTORS and technology. I see so much frustration from 30+ years experienced REALTORS that now have lost their leading edge due to lack of technology. I want to group hug you all! I want you all to get that confidence back that you so respectfully earned (and DESERVE!!)
What’s holding a lot of agents back from making that technology leap? In my opinion, often enough it’s a pride thing...a lot of you have been the leading ‘go to’ person in your office for years.. and … (3 comments)

real estate marketing: Fonts - choose wisely! - 01/04/11 02:17 PM
A tip for REALTORS who moonlight as their own personal graphic designer - choose your fonts wisely!
My advice to you is to keep it simple and legible - and for the younger REALTORS out there, please keep in mind that not everyone has perfect 20/20 vision - I hear time and time again that some clients steer away from certain websites because 1) the font is too small  2) It's way too busy.
A simple legible font can help this!
My advice is to keep it simple and clean. Legibility first - style second. Try to exclude overuse of anything … (9 comments)

real estate marketing: I'm a fan of Constant Contact - an Email Marketing Service - here's why! - 01/04/11 10:01 AM
Now - this one just makes sense.. Email newsletters - a fantastic way to reach your clients in my opinion. It's easy, inexpensive and creates a marvelous tool to stay in touch.
My fave? Constant Contact.
What makes it so great? First of all - it's professional (as long as it's done right!). True - there ARE free programs you can use - most popular is MailChimp - but they don't offer as many innovative features -  I find the name of it to be so cheap and cheesy. It drives me bananas!!
Perception is such a big part of … (8 comments)

real estate marketing: Unlocking the QR Code - 11/09/10 06:22 PM

Unlocking the QR Code I spent some time yesterday researching the QR code - and I am proud to say that I am finally on Team QR code!
For those of you who don't know - QR (Quick Response) codes are 2 dimensional barcodes - they were invented by Denso-Wave (a Toyota subsidiary) back in 1994 as a way of tracking car parts. And then programmers realized that phones were able to read these codes as well. The rest is history..
They look like that image over to your right.

There's a new trend in Real Estate with REALTORS … (67 comments)
