gananoque realtor: AUTUMN EATING IN GANANOQUE - WHAT'S BETTER THAN AN APPLE CIDER PIE? - 10/20/12 02:52 AM
Gananoque, Ontario
One of the best things about living in Gananoque in the Autumn, is the local area apple orchards.  We're minutes away from fresh picked apples and freshly pressed Apple Cider.
I love sitting out on my porch (which just happens to be on the prettiest street in Gananoque) sipping on warm cider, inhaling all the wonderful autumn scents:
the cinnamon wafting up from my cider . . .
it blends in perfectly with the wood smoke in the air from neighbours fireplaces . . .
there's even a certain fragrance that comes from the gorgeous coloured leaves that line … (8 comments)

gananoque realtor: ROASTED BALSAMIC ONIONS in GANANOQUE - 09/17/12 06:48 AM
Today is another gorgeous day in the Town of Gananoque.  Sunny, blue sky and 24 degrees.  (75 degrees old school)  Still nice enough to BBQ without mitts on :0)
We've got some nice steaks that I want to cook simply with a brush of olive oil, s & p and a rub of fresh garlic.  As with everything, we'll have a green salad along with it but I think we need another side dish, hmmmmm . . .
mushrooms?    Nah, did that last week.
Potatoes?  Nah, don't need something that filling.
I know . . .
Onions!! Roasted onions with Balsamic … (17 comments)

gananoque realtor: APPLE-CURRANT STUFFING with VENISON CHOPS in Gananoque - 09/14/12 06:31 AM
Gananoque, On
I wanted to use the venison chops I had in the freezer and so I pulled out a recipe I hadn`t used in years and I am soooo happy I saved it.  Unfortunately, we ate the meal before I remembered to take a photo - oops.   Trust me though, it was delish!
I realized that the stuffing on its own would be fantastic as a side dish for Thanksgiving or perfect in pork and chicken too.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut a pocket in the side of whatever you`ve chosen to stuff:  6 venison chops or chicken breasts, … (14 comments)

gananoque realtor: Gazpacho with a little twist - perfect on these hot and sunny days! - 07/12/12 04:44 AM
I have always been a fan of cold soups from the very first time I made Vichyssoise in 4H Club when I was 11 years old!  (that recipe and others, another day!)
But Gazpacho does seem to be my favourite these days.  Our time on the Costa del Sol was spent enjoying Gazpacho every day for lunch.  As many different versions as there was restaurants to try!   The most memorable was our last beachside lunch on Christmas Eve, the waves practically splashing the windows and us wondering whether our flight was going to be able to manage in the storm that … (13 comments)

gananoque realtor: FAQ #3 WHY CAN'T I SEE THESE GANANOQUE HOMES WHEN I CALL? - 06/05/12 03:41 AM

FAQ #3 WHY CAN'T I SEE THESE GANANOQUE HOMES WHEN I CALL?
We're living in such an instant gratification society that makes this a VERY Frequently Asked Question of your favourite Gananoque Realtor, Susan Emo

I am often quite taken aback by demands such as this, by Buyers but also by Buyers Agents.
There can be many reasons as to why you cannot immediately be granted access to a home listed for sale.  The main reason is this, and it is quite simple . . .
Because people have lives!
And by people I don't just … (15 comments)

gananoque realtor: FAQ #8 FOR YOUR GANANOQUE REALTOR - WHY AM I NOT GETTING SHOWINGS? - 05/31/12 05:32 AM
FAQ #8 FOR YOUR GANANOQUE REALTOR - WHY AM I NOT GETTING SHOWINGS?
This is one of the simplest questions to answer and one that is often asked in this business.
It all goes back to the very beginning when you first interviewed Realtors to list your home for sale.   (you did interview, right?)
You see, Sellers are in charge of many many things and, so they should be.  Some things are in their control of and others, completely out of their control.
The most important thing a Seller controls is the selection of the Realtor and that should be based … (14 comments)

gananoque realtor: THIS MESSAGE WILL SELF DESTRUCT IN 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 BOOM! - 02/13/12 03:29 AM
I always loved that part in the spy thrillers where the message would self destruct after being read.
Now, we have that same ability with some of our more sensitive or confidential emails . . .
OneShar.es has a smart solution to safeguard sensitive information that’s very Bond, James Bond!
"The web tool allows people to easily share private information, whether its via your mobile device (apps for iOS and Android) or your browser window. The recipient has one chance to view the information and when he or she closes out, it self destructs." (from their website)

gananoque realtor: Are we reliving the 60's ? - 02/07/12 08:58 AM
The Chew (a tv cooking show)  spoke of the 60's being a time when people realized they could afford to entertain at home by way of dinner and cocktail parties. It became a time when food was more than just sustenance.   It was a time of the ever popular Avocado Green appliances too.
Then we went thru the seasons of almond, black, white and stainless . . .
Guess what?
Nowadays, many people can't afford to go out to eat so they've come back to home entertainment.  Dinner parties are huge again!
Also, the ever popular coloured kitchen … (41 comments)

Gananoque, On
When I first met Kate Miller in the spring of 2010, she was a young Mother interested in relocating to our area.  It was my honour and privilege to be her Gananoque Realtor of choice and we soon found the perfect place.  Kate quickly got to work making over the lower level of this home to accommodate the pet grooming business she wanted to open.  Kate had been successful in both Florida and in Quebec and now it was Gananoque's pets that were to benefit from Kate's professional grooming skills.
In November she opened the doors of The Green Paw Spa … (12 comments)

SUPPORT GANANOQUE SECONDARY SCHOOL'S CHRISTMAS TREE SALE!!

Since we moved to Gananoque, we have always purchased our real Christmas trees here at the Gananoque Secondary School.
We buy a 6 - 8 foot tree for my Mother's apartment in our home, and another 8 - 10 foot tree for our own.   We have found them to be the most reasonable of price and the service bars none!   The trees are trimmed to a gorgeous shape and they notch the ends to allow them to fit in your stand and absorb the max amount of water too.
