I've never had a mobile home listed for sale before and when my dear former clients called and asked if I would put their home on the market, I didn't hesitate. The place is in amazing condition and even has a grand piano in the living room. I listed it for sale at $84,500 and had an offer the very first day! Hurray, rejoicing all around. No matter what poll you're reading, we in the Real Estate business don't seem to fare very well in public opinion. This month's Reader's Digest has an interesting article "Renewing the Public Trust" and in the category of the "Most Trusted Industries", Real Estate doesn't even make the list!!!! This is disturbing as Cellular phone companies came in at # 28 and Tobacco companies #29 !! In the "professions we trust most" section, we ranked #36 with Psychics, Politicians, Car Salespeople and telemarketers falling behind us. Plumbers were ahead of us at #20 - what's that all about? There once was a lovely property that would not sell. On the market it sat for more years then I care to say. It was NOT listed with me but I did show it on occassion. It seems I was the only one who showed it because when the listing expired (finally) I was called to list it for sale. Now this story took place 3 years ago.
