Observations on Memorial Day  Evening by a Beverly Hills Realtor Endre Barath, Jr.…
Every evening, I reflect as to what went on in the day and how and what I could have done better. Generally, looking back is important to me, it allows me to figure out, how I can improve my actions and plan out the next day as well as the rest of the  week.
Today was an interesting day to say the least. Not only was it Memorial Day, but it was a day the Red Sox were on National TV and I was excited to watch them, not only … (40 comments)

beverly hills real estate: Super Bowl XXXVI & Super Bowl LIII &Real Estate something in... - 02/02/19 10:19 PM
Super Bowl XXXVI and Super Bowl LIII and Real Estate there is something in common here....There are so many subjects to write about, some are Real Estate related others are not. This is about Real Estate, believe it or not. I am just a bit verbose and digress. If you get to the end of my post, you will agree.
Some posts are relevant,  some are timely, and others are not.
Now, with that said, did you know that Super Bowl LIII ( this one in 2019 for those who are not familiar with roman numerals  happens to be  # 53)  and interestingly, … (66 comments)

beverly hills real estate: Who needs Community Guidelines on Active Rain? - 01/19/19 11:01 PM
Who needs Community Guidelines on Active Rain?
Having been on this platform for over ten years, I admitted to everyone in 2014, on the first Challenge when we were asked to write about the “Community Guidelines” that it was the first time I read it. Since, then I have participated in the Challenge sponsored by our friend Lynn B. Friedman   and needless to say not much has changed in my position about the Guidelines.
As far as I am concerned: I am not a fan of being micro managed, nor operating in a very restrictive environment. I guess it was my upbringing, my father … (25 comments)

beverly hills real estate: What makes a great International Realtor in Beverly Hills, CA. 90210 - 06/02/18 02:12 PM
What makes a great International Realtor in Beverly Hills, CA. 90210
This question becomes more and more prevalent as Beverly Hills continues to remain the Global Destination place for “the Global Elite”. I have to smile, when I see companies marketing and encouraging Realtors to put Alphabet Titles behind their names to justify that they can handle International Clients.
I beg to differ, just by having taken a course does not make one an International Realtor. The title alone as being a designated International Specialist is not enough.
Thanks to the Internet we are all marketing to the whole world, hence buyers, investors and … (24 comments)

beverly hills real estate: Another Active Rain Challenge: what is the most expensive or most... - 05/30/18 10:49 PM
Here is my suggestion for a Real Estate Contest aka Active Rain Challenge: What was  or is the most expensive and/or most controversial sale in your market place? As most of you who read my blog posts know I am a Berkshire Hathaway Beverly Hills Realtor and we have some Astronomical List and Sales Prices in our market.
Now with that said everyone looks to Beverly Hills for huge prices and mega drama, but let’s be realistic. There are mega prices, mega dramas all over the country. There are fifty states in the United States and Active Rain is well represented in … (43 comments)

The latest California Trends: Electric Scooters time to regulate them…
Just to give you a little background: I have been one of the early proponents of the Bike Share Program when politicians were studying them in Beverly Hills, CA and Santa Monica, CA. I have written way back then about the foolish waste of money and time that both local governments were about to spend when all they had to do was look at the feasibility study that Boston, MA did way before and were already implementing it successfully.
Many years later you can see the Bike Share program working extremely successfully all … (31 comments)

beverly hills real estate: Breaking News: Quicken Loans affiliate acquires ForeSalebyOwner.com... - 05/24/18 11:24 PM
Fresh off the press:  In House Realty a Quicken Loans affiliate and a subsidiary of Rock Holdings Inc.  acquires ForeSalebyOwner.com
Interestingly, or should I say ironically, yesterday I was commenting on a question about Quicken Loans. How ironic is it that, today I am reading a breaking news post, that Quicken Loans affiliate House Realty acquires ForeSalebyOwner.com?
I had absolutely no respect before about Quicken Loans as a lending institution and particularly how they were conducting business. Hence, I found it interesting that some of my fellow Active Rain Members started saying nice things about this organization and how they have changed.
Now with … (41 comments)

beverly hills real estate: Observations about the importance of 'Priorities' and 'Time Blocking... - 03/15/18 10:59 PM
Observations about the importance of ‘Priorities’ and ‘Time Blocking” by a Beverly Hills Realtor: Endre Barath, Jr.
Having had my own business aka being a Beverly Hills Realtor for over 24+ years, I have learned that “Priorities” are key for long term survival and prospering, not just in Real Estate, but in any business. Not only is prioritizing critical, but it must be directly connected to “Time Blocking”. No matter who you are, or what you do, all your business decisions as well as your success will depend how good you are at these two factors.
The most important commodity anyone has … (60 comments)

beverly hills real estate: Marketing Winners, Losers and the Future: Observations by Endre Barath - 02/10/18 05:35 PM
This Post is written to be submitted for an Active Rain Challenge sponsored by our friend Jeff Dowler      who asked us to share  our   Marketing Winners, Losers, and the Future: So with that said!
The Losers:
Most savvy Realtors understand, unfortunately there are many opportunities for Realtors to be taken advantage of, via Marketing Silver Bullets by unscrupulous Scammers. I could write a book about them and it would bogle your mind, if you were not privy to some or all these scams. Then there are more subtle ways of taking Realtor’s money.
Just to give you a background: I was marketing a very expensive … (35 comments)

beverly hills real estate: Fishhawk Lake-Tuesday Travelogue June 17 - 01/30/18 12:23 PM
Today when I saw Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Real Estate  post that it was the 146th week of writing the Travelogue I had to dig and go into the archives...

The Year was 2014 and the month was June and our friend decided, that since so many of  us do not have the time to travel due to family, pets and career obligations... we might as well travel virtually through our friends on Active Rain. Meaning enjoying their descriptions and photos of places they have visited and shared with us on this platform.
What an awesome idea she came up with, more importantly to … (14 comments)

beverly hills real estate: The "First Lady of Luxury Real Estate" RIP - 01/11/18 10:53 PM
As most of you know there have bee mudslides in Southern California in the wealthy coastal enclave of Montecito. Sadly life has some twists and does not matter if you are poor or rich, famous or infamous, Mother Nature does not discriminate.
The Realtor known as the "first lady of luxury real estate" was killed when the mudslides pounded the town of 9000 people northwest of Los Angeles in Montecito.
Sadly, she was the founding partner of Riskin Partner in Montecito. Rebeca Riskin died early Tuesday, she was 61 years old.
Just to give you an idea she has sold more than $2.17 billion dollars worth or real estate … (24 comments)

Thank you to the original founders of Active Rain, I miss you guys and thank you for teaching me how to get the word out!
Well it is hard to believe that, today is the fourth day of the Active Rain Gratitude Challenge and I am still in it. Work, life and relationships have not stopped me from completing another one of these posts.
Today as the time chimes a little past 11:00 pm on the West Coast, I thought I would share how grateful I am for the friends, relationships and clients I have gained over the years, all thanks to … (42 comments)

beverly hills real estate: Real Estate and reading Hardcover First Ed. Books, there are so ... - 10/01/17 11:24 PM
Real Estate and reading Hardcover First Edition Books, there are so many similarities…
As most of you who read my posts know, that Diane & I are not only avid readers, but we also have an addiction: we cannot go past a bookstore without buying a book or two.  Just to be clear, we go out of our way to find and visit independent bookstores. We consider it a great afternoon when we both can take time and drive to Pasadena’s oldest independent Bookstore: Vroman’s, that is. On the other hand, when we are short on time and do not make this … (37 comments)

Anything is possible keep that in mind:  Observations of a Beverly Hills Realtor, Endre Barath, Jr...
I will share a bit of personal history with you. My intent is not to bore you, as you know I am a Beverly Hills Realtor and in an indirect way I owe my moral strengths to my father. He set the best example for me, as I was growing up that ‘anything and everything is possible if you set your mind to it.’
My father took his family and escaped from Communist Hungary, because he did not want his son, to grow up in an oppressive … (37 comments)

Uber in Redondo Beach, CA or San Francisco, CA? Made me ponder a few points
I am confident that most of you are familiar with UBER, and immediately think of their Headquarters being in San Francisco, CA. If you Google the word or check on Wikipedia UBER pops up in San Francisco.
https://www.uber.com/
The other day I was driving to a meeting in Redondo Beach, CA and I was so surprised to see the UBER sign on a building, I had a few minutes to spare, so I backtracked to make sure I was not mistaken. I immediately started wondering, what is this building? … (16 comments)

Life imitates Art or does Art imitates Life, or Politics? Free advice/observations from a Beverly Hills, CA Realtor

There is an old time tested conundrum:  what came first the Chicken or the Egg?? Does art imitate life, or life imitates art? Oscar fiasco at its best!
There is a chaos in Hollywood. What just happened, there is disbelief, shock? Sounds familiar?? This has never happened in the 89-year history of the Oscars. Totally blotching the most anticipated award:  The Best Picture Announcement!
One of my friends on Active Rain said: “…actors should act…” amazingly enough maybe if the focus would have been less on … (18 comments)

beverly hills real estate: The Beverly Hills Real Estate Market Trends Report by Endre Barath - 01/11/17 03:58 PM
The Beverly Hills Real Estate Market Trends are published by Endre Barath, Jr.
Hard to believe we are in our second week of the New Year, hence I thought it would be valuable to see what the Real Estate Market Trends are for Beverly Hills, CA. This is the Single-Family Market Trends Report for the 90210-zip code.
The Market currently is hovering with a slight Buyer’s Advantage. We measure home sales vs. the amount of inventory and determine how the market is doing. Hence the easiest way to gage it is to see that prices are not moving higher until the excess inventory … (25 comments)
