Many people all over the Globe are not familiar with ‘Columbus Day’. Reason being, it is a U.S. holiday that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492, and Columbus Day 2021 occurs on Monday, October 11.
So, someone who came to the United States from a Communist Hungary, I always loved celebrating Columbus Day. After all, it is the holiday honoring Columbus’ achievements coming from Europe to the United States.
