When I was growing up, my parents always set the example, they were generous to a fault when it came to give to the needy. My mother told me stories how my grandfather came home on a freezing cold winter night and my grandmother wanted to know what happened to his winter coat? He simply said there was this guy who was freezing and did not have one, so he gave it away.
I always asked question and the answer was that we are so lucky that we have so much more than others and we are able to give.

Sometimes it is hard to write a post, not because there is no inspiration, rather it is the subject matter that is hard to write about. We as Realtors are trained and programed, and it is in our DNA to write wonderful, positive and inspirational posts.

Here is a loving dog that for some reason no one has adopted yet from the Lange Foundation in Los Angeles. Just to give you a quick background, she is very loving and intelligent, the only draw back is she needs to be an only child. She does not like other pets.
Diane, drove her over to our home for a quick afternoon play date. As soon as she recognized our home and the drive way she was all excited. Tail waging could hardly wait to get in the back yard. Totally human friendly and wanted to be with us. On a … (34 comments)

Speechless Sunday: Octavia is available for adoption!! She can over for a play date. Sadly she has still not been taken to her forever home. She is the most loving dog you could meet. Key is she needs to be an only child, because she loves her humans but does not like other animals....

Speechless Sundays: Octavia came for a visit... it breaks my heart here is this cute and intelligent little girl and no one has adopted her. One issue she has aggressions against other animals...well how about taking her to a home where she would be the only pet??? I do not get it.....

Speechless Sundays: A new acquisition a 'Jack & Jill Plate'... most of you who read my blog posts know that we have three cats and two of them are named Jack & Jill. Long story short Diane and I are a huge supporter of the Lange Foundation. Well Friday was the Grand Opening of their Fundraiser Sale.... when I saw the two plates I just knew that they would be part of our home:))).
BTW the Wine is pretty good too if you find it it is south of $40 called "Bootleg"

Some dogs are more challenging than others to adopt. Here is this cute little girl, comes across mean and tough the first time you meet her. She wants everyone to know not to "mess with her" I suspect she is more scarred and it is a defensive reaction.
Diane and her fellow Volunteers from the Lange Foundation brought her over to expose her to this Beverly Hills Realtor. Well she was barking and had me scarred, then she was told I was OK and after about three minutes of barking off we went for a quick walk... shortly after that we were friends and … (21 comments)

Most of you know that I have a soft spot for cats and dogs, it breaks my heart that here it is a month is almost gone since I have written about Octavia and still no one has stepped up to give this great little girl a forever home.
She is such a loving and caring girl who wants to be living in a home instead of a cage at the Lange Foundation. I have never met such a loving and affectionate dog.

Some of you might remember I wrote a post and mentioned how nice it would be for this little guy to get adopted.... I wrote the post on October 30th and could have sworn that right after my post the word would get out and Sweet would be in a forever home. This post was inspired by my Active Rain friend Jim Cheney he asked us to write about the human side of us. In other words, not the standard “Beverly Hills Realtor Top Producer Persona” that everyone is exposed to, just to use as an example.

As many of you know, I am a supporter of animal rescue, and in particular the non-profit Los Angeles-based Lange Foundation. Lange Foundation is very excited that they were selected to be part of Animal Planet's Adoption Mania event.
Similar to March Madness, this adoption event takes 4 shelters or rescues from across the United States and features 4 animals (2 dogs and 2 cats) over 4 days from each.
Through Animal Planet's Facebook page, people can vote for the Lange Foundation animals and help them make it to the final round. Each "like" or “love” on Lange Foundation animals’ picture post equals $1 … (19 comments)

The Annual Lange Foundation Fundraiser- Estate Sale is here again! Just got back from Opening Night. Such a great cause! I always enjoy seeing the generosity of people who give away their valuable items for such a good cause. Then we come and buy these valuable items for such a good cause!

Brooklyn’s Place: a playground for dogs at St Bonnie’s Sanctuary
St. Bonnie’s Sanctuary, the Canyon Country location of the 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization, Lange Foundation (www.langefoundation.com) has a playground for dogs and it is called Brooklyn’s Place. This has been constructed as a safely enclosed playground for the dogs to supplement their daily walks. And they have a ball, literally and figuratively, when they romp in Brooklyn’s Place.
