los angeles real estate: Speechless Sunday: strange weather here in Los Angeles... - 03/24/24 10:09 PM
Speechless Sunday:  we have had some strange weather here in Los Angeles lately. Out of nowhere, we had another rainstorm around 5pm today. Then when the clouds cleared look what we saw. What a beautiful rainbow.
If you look closely at both pictures you will notice an  airplane coming to land at LAX, that is Los Angeles International Airport. When I was watching I saw the plane was in the middle of the Rainbow. By the time I got my camera out and took the two pictures well in  one photo, the plane was still in the rainbow, the other one just … (24 comments)

los angeles real estate: Happy Saint Patrick's Day eve or weekend! - 03/16/24 11:42 PM
Everyone is Irish on St Paddy's Day and St. Paddy's Day weekend. So, with that said I decided tonight to do an Irish Dinner in respect to St. Patrick's Day weekend.
Yes, you guessed correctly, Cabage, sausages and potatoes. How much more Irish can you get?
Easy recipe:
1. one medium onion (I prefer sweet onions) Sautee for five to ten minutes depending how much time you have. The longer the better it will caramelize the onion.
2. chop some Celery and carrots of all different types
3. Two or three different sausages I personally like chicken sausages with two different flavors. Ask me in the … (24 comments)

los angeles real estate: What was my first home buying experience like? - 04/08/23 12:28 PM
This post was inspired by an Active Rain challenge:  What was my first home buying experience like? Thank you Kathy Streib  and Carol Williams  for inspiring me to go down memory lane.
As always, a bit of background! After finishing high school, I moved away to college and then joined the military; so basically, not having lived at home with my parents for about nine or ten years, my room became my mother’s art studio, housing her easel, paints and paintings. The guest bedroom became my father’s home office. I find it funny to look back on this now remembering 2020 when so … (52 comments)

los angeles real estate: Where do the healthiest eating squirrels live? Los Angeles of course... - 03/19/23 02:21 PM
What a great question:  Where do the healthiest eating squirrels live? Los Angeles of course... Gloria Todor  and I were bantering about this very subject just the other day. So, without further ado look at these pictures, let me know where I am going wrong?
Our backyard squirrels and I used to compete about our Tangerine crop. Now we are competing about the orange crop. The way I can tell our citrus is starting to get ripe is when I see the evidence our squirrels leave i.: the citrus peals.
Now in all fairness I do not mind them eating the fruit, I … (25 comments)

los angeles real estate: Throwback Thursday: Holly came to us about four years ago... - 03/16/23 09:51 PM
Seldom do I write a Throwback Thursday Post, but this was worth it. The animal farm is saying who is coming in now?? That being Wiley, Jack & Jill
Four years ago, Holly joined our family. She decided that this was a good home to hang out. The animal farm was pretty open on accepting her. Not the perfect family member, but she will do was the consensus.

Well see the photos and you tell me. Yes, I agree Holly and Jill needed to warm up to each other a bit. Clearly all is well four years later:)

los angeles real estate: Those of you who read my blogs regularly might remember... - 10/03/22 10:43 PM
Those of you who read my blogs regularly might remember, my navigational challenges to meet up with Brian England  & Michael Jacobs  in Pasadena. I am enclosing a link in case you missed it.
https://activerain.com/droplet/H9Kv
Anyway I was less than two miles from the Restaurant where we were to meet. Long story short I went on a 25 mile out of area magical mystery tour thanks to my navigation system.
For those who did not believe me and said quietly under your breath he was making up the story, he probably left late and came up with this excuse. Well let me share a … (26 comments)

I am so appreciative of the Five Star Reviews. I provide the same service to all my clients, but those who go the extra mile and publish  a Five Star Review I am even more appreciative, that they were willing to write and publish it for all to see what service they received!

Endre Barath recently acted as our realtor for a duplex property my sisters and I needed to sell. Unfortunately, our brother had passed away around a year ago. Due to our ages, we were not comfortable traveling from the East Coast to LA to assist on preparing the house … (21 comments)

los angeles real estate: There are some people who are always just lucky.... - 09/12/21 10:10 PM
I am sure you have heard some people complaining by the water cooler that "some people are always lucky..... I always laughed and smiled when I heard these discussions. My take is I have always been lucky in my life. How lucky am I for being one of those people.

"...Before anything else, preparation is the key to success..."  Alexander Graham Bell...

Now just to be clear, I have always believed, that luck is the residue of hard work, preparation and the right mindset.

So with that said here is some preparation for our late afternoon early evening dinner.
First the appetizer needed to … (13 comments)

los angeles real estate: Have you ever heard of YellowSack? - 09/07/21 11:48 PM
Well just to be clear a night or two ago I saw my neighbor across the street  put out two big bags and they were Yellow and had written on it YellowSack... I did not think much about it. I saw him load dirt into it... later in the evening I saw a potential scavenger stop and look what was in the bags and drove off disappointed....
Now with that said the following morning I saw this huge truck with YellowSack painted all over it and a big crane loaded the bags in the truck.
Fast forward a few days later, I ran … (14 comments)

los angeles real estate: 4525 W 12th St, Los Angeles CA 90019-3032 SOLD!!!! - 01/30/21 10:23 PM
4525 W 12th St, Los Angeles CA 90019-3032 SOLD!!!!
All sales are important, but some sales are special. This listing was an Active Rain Referral! One seller was in Texas, the other seller was in Pennsylvania and the third seller was in Wisconsin.
Then to boot it was a Probate Sale with Court Confirmation. It was a roller coaster ride not because of the sellers or the buyers, but because of the Attorney representing the sellers. In spite of that the buyers and the sellers were probably the nicest people I have met in my Real Estate career. They were all on the … (47 comments)

los angeles real estate: Speechless Sunday: What a powerful message - 01/24/21 10:45 PM
One of my  clients of 20 plus years ago wrote this post on LinkedIn I had to share. It is such a powerful message.
Just to give you an idea I sold his home in Los Angeles and he moved to Arizona when it was not hip cool and trendy. He had a vision with the proceeds he bought a lot of rental properties.
Would you like to guess what kind of car he drives nowdays?? On a side note I am happy to call him a friend after all these years...

los angeles real estate: Thanksgiving 2020 is in the books: not your usual Thanksgiving... - 11/29/20 11:42 PM
Thanks to California Pandemic Lockdown Protocol Thanksgiving was a bit different.... needless to say we were all still 'Thankful' for the abundance of love and food we received. I will not post anything more about it with the exception of these two pictures.

The preperation was the same and as you can see the Turkey turned out great as well. Diane was a bit worried since I did the turkey with a different way of cooking. Not the standard way, thought it would be appropriate to change things up a bit. I use a no muss feature: The Convection Oven Feature. It … (34 comments)

los angeles real estate: When you had a busy day how about a simple Sheet Pan Chicken Caprese? - 10/11/20 11:01 PM
If you read my previous post you  know I had lost a great many hours on Saturday. So no fancy dinner tonight. I decide to make a Sheet Pan Chicken Caprese Dinner. Sounds a lot easier if you have the ingredients. Foolish question of course I did. I have been marinating Chicken Breasts in the Fridge. always shave fresh mozzarella cheese in the fridge as well. Now with that said I always have fingerling potatoes and this time I had Purple Asparagus one of my favorites and there you have it.
Little balsamic reduction while the Chicken and the potatoes are backing under 400 degrees for about 20 … (48 comments)

los angeles real estate: Speechless Sunday: Holly clearly did not like this yard sign... - 09/20/20 10:09 PM
As most of my readers know I live in Westchester CA 90045 and most of my neighbors know I am a Realtor. Now with that said two years ago a new buyer moved here from Colorado... the agent that represented him did not tell him that he over paid by a $150,000 for the neighborhood.  Diane wanted me to go over and welcome him to the community... I thought the guy was a jerk so I did not.... Needless to say two years later he has  his house listed with an other of area Realtor about $200,000 over the  neighborhood comps.
