market observations: My last Market Observation for the year 2019 as well as for the decade... - 12/07/19 05:31 PM
Here we are Thanksgiving is now in the rearview mirror and we are moving at lightning speed towards the end of the year. 2019 is virtually in the books and 2020 is fast approaching us! This is my last Market Observations not only for 2019 but for the decade!
Now with that said, let’s recap where we are, Black Friday sale were at an all-time high, to the tune of $7.9 Billion,  which is a clear sign that consumers are confident. Most people do not realize the that is about 70% of the economy. Small Business Saturday brought in $3.6 Billion that … (66 comments)

market observations: Market Observations by a Beverly Hills Realtor: Endre Barath, Jr. - 09/22/18 12:25 AM
Market Observations by a Beverly Hills Realtor: Endre Barath, Jr. :  We need to separate terminology.
When you mention anything about the 'Market' you should think of the' STOCK Market' and not the Real Estate Market.
Sadly  four Presidents ago, this mind set or should I say terminology was introduced by modifying the tax codes. People looked at Real Estate before it, as  nothing more than a home where to live in and understood that if they held on to their home in the long - term they would reap financial success from it. Then things changed, because the tax modification you could treat real … (86 comments)

market observations: How is the Real Estate Market? Throw back Thursday... NOT!!! - 07/12/18 11:28 PM
I remember going to cocktail parties, social gatherings in the early 2000's and people would constantly ask me " So How is the Real Estate Market?" I would laugh and would tell them: " do not look at Real Estate as the stock market... it is a long term proposition" , they of course would not listen and just wanted statistics. So I would just simply tell them it was Hot... because when I asked about what area they are interested in? Then when I asked them what type of properties they were asking about? Is this about Investment Properties in Los Angeles? Or … (19 comments)

Real Estate Market observations: by Endre Barath,Jr. November 2015
There has been a great deal of misinformation recently in the media. The confusing and conflicting data and poor interpretations of the Real Estate activity locally as well as nationally make it difficult to determine who has the good vs. the bad information.

Sadly this is in all aspects from the low end to the high end as well as the Ultra Luxury Real Estate Markets. This in turn makes it difficult for the first time buyers as well as for first time sellers to make heads and tails of it.

 I have been … (8 comments)

market observations: Market Observations for the week of November 8th, 2010 - 11/08/10 10:34 AM
Market Observations for the week of November 8th, 2010, as you know I do not often comment on this subject, since there is a great deal of daily volatility in the Stock Market and consequently in the mortgage rates as well.
Last Wednesday, the Fed announced that, to help boost the economy, it will purchase an additional $600 billion in Treasury securities by the end of the second quarter of 2011. The expectation is to purchase about $75 billion per month to reach its goal.
The good news is this will help Real Estate sales, since the Dollar will remain weak … (4 comments)

market observations: Market Observations - Week of June 28, 2010 - 06/29/10 09:59 AM
Market Observations -Week of June 28, 2010
I have noticed that the Mortgage rates have dropped probably to the lowest level in decades last week and the affordability of homes is now very favorable for buyers. The cause of this drop in the Mortgage rates is due to the uncertainty of the extent of the global economic growth as well as the continued low inflation levels.
The Financial Reform Bill was passed last week by Congress. The affect on the mortgage lending and the home buying process is yet to be seen. The impact will be mostly noticed how the regulatory … (0 comments)
