Well this afternoon we had finally the typical Southern California weather, Sunshine, 70 degrees and butterflies migrating from Mexico flooding our area with beautiful scenery. So I would have been remiss if I did not let Holly wonder around the back yard. Just an FYI this was the first time she was off leash and the second time in the back yard since she joined our family.

When I was growing up, my parents always set the example, they were generous to a fault when it came to give to the needy. My mother told me stories how my grandfather came home on a freezing cold winter night and my grandmother wanted to know what happened to his winter coat? He simply said there was this guy who was freezing and did not have one, so he gave it away.
I always asked question and the answer was that we are so lucky that we have so much more than others and we are able to give.

Here is a loving dog that for some reason no one has adopted yet from the Lange Foundation in Los Angeles. Just to give you a quick background, she is very loving and intelligent, the only draw back is she needs to be an only child. She does not like other pets.

‘The Conclave’ by Robert Harris: A Book Review
Over the years, I have read quite a few books by Robert Harris. I have even met him at the Los Angeles Festival of Books a few years ago.
His books are truly enjoyable, provided you are a fan of historical novels. One of my favorite observation about his writing style is, that he writes about historic events and his research is impeccable. Now keep in mind they are thrillers, that have such a page turning quality to it, that it is hard to put the book down.

Octavia is almost 4 years old. She loves people, long walks, playing fetch and is a very good car passenger. Happy personality, would need to be in an only pet household.
She came by our house for a " play day or should I say a few hours with Diane in the back yard". By the time I got back from showing homes in Bel Air, in the coveted 90077 zip code, Octavia seemed to be some what exhausted from playing ball and shredding toys. When she saw me she got her second wind and wanted to play with me too.

Update on Wiley: our back yard stray cat!
As most of you who have been keeping up with Wiley know, he decided that our home would be the best place to settle down. We in turn concurred and after he got used to us feeding him regularly, we managed to capture, take him to the vet, spay & neuter him. While he was recovering we tried to have him get socialized to incorporate him into a home. What is stronger Love or Hunger? Most people would agree with me that the basic needs, hunger, thirst, survival instincts superseed love.....
As most of you who read my blog posts know that Diane's dog is so in love with her that words could not describe it so I am sharing a few photos here for you to see and be your own judge.
On a side note I must mention that we are in the process of getting Chiacchi incorporated into a household with three indoor cats and one stray in the back yard. Not an easy task … (16 comments)
