thanksgiving: Ending the Thanksgiving Weekend: My tradition has been Leftover ... - 11/29/21 11:02 PM
Ending the Thanksgiving Weekend: My tradition has  always been that I would  bake the small pumpkins. They  were part of the indoor  decorations. Now they would become the vessel for the left over Turkey Soup.
From one perspective it is very unusual but at the same time very delicious.
Easy to do, you cut the pumpkin, clean out the insides, wipe with a little Olive Oil the insides and bake them for 15-20 minutes depending on the size at 400 degrees.
In the mean time warm the left over Turkey Soup on the stove top. Then simply fill the pumpkin with the soup and … (17 comments)

thanksgiving: I am grateful that despite the Los Angeles traffic the shopping is done... - 11/20/18 11:18 PM
I am grateful that despite the  Los Angeles traffic and although one of my real estate deals  was blowing up a week before closing, I still managed to get all the shopping done, for the Olympics of Cooking aka the Thanksgiving Dinner.
It sounds crazy, but I shopped at six different establishments to get all the items for my  dinner. Just imagine trying to find parking space in the various parking lots where seems like everyone else had the same idea as I did. If there is anything missing, all I can say is, I will just have to improvise and make … (36 comments)

thanksgiving: Thanksgiving: Gratitude is a Virtue and then some... - 11/23/17 09:05 PM
Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends, clients and anyone who has meet me over the years. I hope you had a wonderful day with friends and family.
I am so grateful to have gotten to know many of you over the years and most of all I am so appreciative to all who have touched my life.

Those who are gone, I wish I could thank you in person one more time. Clearly, I do not get enough opportunity to personally say “Thank You from the bottom of my heart” even though every day I am thankful to you.
So, with that said, to … (23 comments)

It is the night before the Food Olympics: Thanksgiving that is, there is so much to be grateful for....
There are so many things and people I am grateful for, there is so little time to give recognition to all. Tonight, I have to say, I must give credit to all the years of experience that got me to the night before Thanksgiving without stressing.
Every year I would be stressing on getting the Turkey, brining the turkey, shopping for the ingredients and worrying about the preparation as well as the planning of the meal.
Well after so many years it is like second … (21 comments)

The Saturday before Thanksgiving: I am so thankful  for...
Well here we are, the Saturday before Thanksgiving: I am so grateful that most of my shopping is done.  The Turkey and the pies have been ordered, now I will just have to coordinate their pickup. Next, I will have to do inventory and see what are the critical, aka what are the missing items for the “Feast” that still need to be acquired.
Over the years I have learned (yes, the hard way), that just like anything else, it takes proper planning and years of experience to make a successful Traditional Thanksgiving Meal. It … (16 comments)

thanksgiving: Did you know, that Thanksgiving is only eleven days away? - 11/13/17 11:12 PM
Thanksgiving is only eleven days away, no matter where you are in the United States it is just around the corner…
I am so thankful, that I have two of my listings in Escrow and at the same time I am negotiating two other properties. The best part is, here in Los Angeles, all we must worry about is, traffic and not worry about snow or any other natural hazards.
Now with that said, I just got an email from one of my repeat clients. He wants to see a fixer home tomorrow and I could barely squeeze him in. This is only, … (27 comments)

thanksgiving: Hope you are having a Happy Thanksgiving weekend... - 11/24/16 11:16 PM
Here we are and it is Thanksgiving evening.  I would like to belatedly wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers, friends, clients and all who know me. This is one of my favorite Holidays of the year, hence I was busy all day preparing the Traditional Dinner instead of blogging. Most of my friends and clients respect my one day “off” from being “on”. Well not “off” just delayed response to all inquiries.
The older I get, the more I appreciate Thanksgiving and the meaning it stands for. It is all about giving ‘Thanks’. This should not be just one day … (26 comments)

thanksgiving: The day before Thanksgiving and the buyers are out there.... - 11/23/16 11:25 PM
I am so grateful that the buyers are out there....
It is the day before Thanksgiving and I thought it would be the quietest day in Real Estate and I was prepared to do a great deal of prepping for tomorrow’s dinner. Well it turned out I had quite a few calls, inquiries about my listings. I am not complaining, I am grateful that I could do some last-minute shopping for the Olympics of Cooking: Thanksgiving. Whatever is missing we must do without.
What I am more grateful to the fact, that it is the day before Thanksgiving and the buyers are out … (23 comments)

thanksgiving: Grateful for getting most of my Thanksgiving shopping done... - 11/22/16 11:56 PM
I am grateful for getting most of my Thanksgiving shopping done and it is Tuesday... so this will allow me to do some prepping tomorrow and buy what I am still missing for the Olympics of Cooking the Thanksgiving Meal:)))
Wow time flies, not sure if it is day seven or day eight of my Grateful Challenge, all I can say is today I am grateful that I could get most of my shopping done for Thanksgiving, a few odds and ends I might have missed will either not be missed or I will handle it tomorrow.
In between the shopping, I managed … (15 comments)

thanksgiving: I am so grateful for my friend Debbie Reynolds in inspiring me... - 11/21/16 03:21 PM
I am so grateful that my friend Debbie Reynolds     inspired me to not only verbalize the many reasons I am grateful for, but to have me put it in writing. There is an old saying that has been around for a hundred years…” …talk is cheap, but when you are willing to put it in writing than it becomes very meaningful…” Not only to the person who wrote it but to the person reading it.

I must admit there were times when I was not mentally ready to be grateful verbally or be willing to put it in writing. As those days, … (9 comments)

thanksgiving: Looking for a great Beverly Hills Real Estate Manager?Email or call .. - 11/17/16 03:11 PM
Thank you, Debbie Reynolds , for motivating me to participate in your "Grateful Challenge” this is my third day of participating. So, with that said let me dive in:
I am so grateful that I have Manager who is supportive and understands my business style as well as business needs. Whenever I need advice or consultation he is there for me. I try not to abuse the privilege, but I know he understands that seldom that I reach out to him, but when I do, I really need advice.
I recall many years ago, when I was in the Military and my third boss … (24 comments)

thanksgiving: Thanksgiving is right around the corner:time to be grateful... - 11/15/16 03:43 PM
Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays! it goes back to the days when we relocated from Europe to the United States.I have always connected Thanksgiving with LOVE and of  Family Values. Needless to say, having moved from the East Coast to the West Coast we lost many friends and relatives that would gather around the Thanksgiving Dinner Table. In spite of that I still prefer staying home although we were often invited to other homes since we became "orphan's". I always chose to stay home.
So with that said I am grateful that we have a home with three cats and a … (31 comments)

thanksgiving: Thanksgiving is the Cooks' Marathon in the US! - 11/27/15 01:36 PM
If you are a person who cooks you will agree with me: Thanksgiving is the Cooks' Marathon in the US!
I consider myself very lucky to be living in a place where we have all the food and tools and financial ability to prepare a massive Feast on short notice.  Those of you who read my posts regularly will recall, that last year, I was “stove challenged”. We bought a house and the owner left us a stove that…well I need to use a Fireplace Lighter to start the stove every time I wanted to use it. Needless to say we opted … (14 comments)

Thanksgiving: I challenge you to rediscover the ‘Joy ‘of this Holliday! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! 2015!
I look back over the years and reflect on the wonderful memories that I had and recall fondly being with family and friends at this particular Holiday. It has always been a favorite holiday of mine. This is such an “American” holiday. It conjures up images of the Pilgrims sitting down to a feast with the local Indians.

thanksgiving: Thanksgiving 2014 a bittersweet get together in Los Angeles! - 11/26/14 03:39 PM
Thanksgiving 2014 a bittersweet get together in Los Angeles.
The history of Thanksgiving have often been debated. In my opinion it has evolved and changed over the years. When you read about the history there are some variations as to the history, as well as who is right and who is not. In the big picture it does not matter.
As far as I can envision the first Thanksgiving (most would agree with me) The Pilgrims coming ashore greeted by the Indians (natives) and gathering around the fire for a huge feast. The Pilgrims glad that they arrived safe and sound … (13 comments)

thanksgiving: Reflections on the economic and housing outlook on Thanksgiving evening - 11/28/13 10:15 AM
Reflections on the economic and housing outlook on Thanksgiving evening in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Now that  we are here and another Thanksgiving day is almost in the books, as we are relaxing after being with friends and family I thought it would be timely to start looking ahead to some observations about the Greater Los Angeles real estate market.

Before I do that, I need to preface my comments with the fact that there are many people in the economic sector, billionaire investors and small to large investors who are bullish on the Real Estate … (12 comments)

Thanksgiving is right around the corner Quick tips to avoid Garbage Disposal backups!

As most of you know this is the biggest Cooking & Eating day of the Year. There is no room for last minute disasters. Garbage Disposal Breakdown is a disaster so avoid it. Best advice I can give is, only you use your disposal when you really need to use it!

Be mindful of the items you are placing in the garbage disposal and if you live in a condominium or an apartment complex and you are not on the bottom floor be mindful of your … (14 comments)

thanksgiving: Marina Del Rey, CA, Condominium Sales Activity Report (#4) - 12/02/08 10:04 AM
I hope everyone has enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgivings weekend. Mine was great as well, hence the delay of this important report.
This reporting period covers the Condominiums which sold from October 28th 2008 to November 28th,2008. The Pending (in Escrow) as well as the Back - Up (in Escrow contingencies not removed) to date. Also I have included the Condominiums which are currently active on the Market to date.
Last month we had 18 sold vs. this month we had only 14 sold. Keep in mind traditionally when the holiday season enters, normally there is a drop in the Sales Activity … (0 comments)
