BILLINGS, Montana (AP) - Yellowstone National Park will let in 720 snowmobiles a day - the same as the past three winters - while officials try to form a long-term access plan amid challenges from recreational users and conservationists.
Park spokesman Al Nash said administrators decided to revert to the old temporary plan so they could dive immediately into developing a long-term solution.
The decision marked the latest turn in a decades-long struggle between snowmobile advocates, who want more recreational access, and conservation groups that say too many of the machines degrade the park's natural beauty.

Our agent, daughter of Sue Frye and close friend, Tammee Ryan has been fighting for a cure for Juvenile Diabetes for several years now. She recently rode 65 miles in "The Ride to Cure Diabetes in Whitefish, Montana". She's committed to the fight for her son and all the other children.

The 5th annual State of the Rockies Report Card prepared by Colorado College was recently released, and as always provides some interesting insight into our changing and vibrant region. The eight-state Rockies region offers breathtaking scenery, intact ecosystems, and a growing amenities-based economy. From 2000 to 2006, the Rockies region experienced a population growth rate 4.5 times the national average. The eight included for data purposes are Arizona , Colorado , Idaho , Montana , Nevada , New Mexico , Utah and Wyoming.
