Cambridge Countryside is the second subdivision in my three-part feature of Aurora far north-side subdivisions. The Cambridge Countryside Subdivision is located in the same area as our last featured north-side subdivision, Butterfield. It is located between Eola and Kirk on Butterfield road and can be accessed VIA Du Page Parkway. The townhomes of Cambridge Countryside are fairly large as townhomes go and feature stylish exteriors with partial brick exteriors. I first reported this news item on my blog a little while ago - Two Brothers Brewing Company Purchases Former America's Roundhouse - and if you are familiar with the area, this has got to be one of the biggest real estate stories in Aurora this spring (the other big story will be the opening of the new WCC campus in downtown Aurora this spring). On the evening of July 4th, the sky on the west side of Aurora was once again ablaze with color. In 2008, for the second year in a row, the City of Aurora fireworks were held on the grounds of the Illinois Math and Science Academy near the corner of Sullivan and Edgelawn. I have to say, of all the firework displays I've seen, this is annually one of the best. For nearly 30 minutes, the crowd "ooohed" and "ahhhed" at the brightly colored shells that burst in the perfectly clear skies in tribute to our counrty and community. The first was Park Avenue Subdivision where I had an appointment to do a market analysis. Oakhurst Subdivision is located on the far east side of Aurora near the intersection of New York and Eola Road. This large community of perhaps 1000 homes features hiking paths, community parks and semi-custom homes. Aurora, Illinois Aurora Illinois was founded in 1834 by the McCarty brothers, Joseph and Samuel from New York. December Market Conditions Detached Style Single-Family Homes The median price of homes on the market in Aurora rose slightly in the month of December, going from $224,900 in November to $226,900 in December. That's the good news.
