I apologize a little misleading on the title. It is actually a personal milestone and I live in Grand Rapids. Not even Grand Rapids, a outlying suberb. A home on Ballard in Grand Rapids is my first home that we (my wife nad I) ever bought. So I like to think of myself as a Grand Rapids, MI native. Ever since my accident I have known I have a purpose in life. So this is a quick reflection on my life over the last 7 years. Why 7 years? 910 Ballard, it is a 1125 sq ft home with 3 bedrooms 1.5 baths I just acquired recently. I started out asking $950. I had a few phone calls on this great Grand Rapids home. It wasn't until I lowered the for rent price to $895 that I took two applications. I showed the home and interviewed both prospects, now I am torn on who to accept as my tenant. What is going to change the level of foreclosures in Michigan? I have a strong opinion. The State of Michigan should declare a moratorium on all foreclosures for 60 days and review each foreclosure on a case by case
basis. Does the bank really want the home? What good does it do to displace people from their home? Reviewing every case will determine if the home should just go back to the bank or if the current owners actually want to keep the home. What are your opinions on the foreclosure crisis in Michigan? On Thursday I found out that our counter offer on my listing at 958 Marcia was excepted subject to inspections ofcourse. I can tell you how the sellers of this Wyoming story and a half home did it. First they have owned the home for over 40 years, since 1964. That is impressive in itself. Well they also own a home up north in Newaygo on the lake. So I have done it. My wife and I have bought a new house and we are scheduled to close on the 26th of March. So what does that mean and why do you care? The main reason is that we are experiencing what every other home buyer in the Grand Rapids area has experienced. Anticipation, excitement and dread.
