Pacific Pinball Museum exhibit at Rhythmix Cultural Works in Alameda are teaming up to offer “Pinball Oddity” exhibition.  The opening reception at Rhythmix is on Friday, May 11, from 6 to 9pm, at 2513 Blanding Avenue   The exhibit of rare historic pinball games comes from the Pacific Pinball Museum collection.

Frank Bette Center satellite artist's show is being exhibited at Gallagher & Lindsey, featuring works by seven artists.  The artists are Patris, Cindy Carrillo, Nancy Seamons Crookston, Inna Cherneykina, Bart Walker, Edwin Bertolet and Ulrich Gleiter.
On Saturday, April 28th there was a reception for the artists.  Edwin Bertolet gave a demonstration of plein air painting.  It was amazing.  He started from a plain canvas and created a beautiful landscape scene. Queen Victoria visited children in Alameda
Queen Victoria recently visited children in Alameda on a sunny Saturday.  This is her 15th visit to Alameda and she was happily welcomed by children and adults.  Queen Victoria visited the children at the Alameda Museum where the children serenaded her with “God save the Queen” and the Alameda song.  The Queen was introduced to the children and their parents by City Manager John Russo.

Urban search training  in Alameda
Saturday, April 21, community emergency response team (CERT) members participated in an urban search training.  As part of the continuing education for CERT graduates the CERT executive committee has developed this program in the event the Fire and Police departments requests volunteers to aid in an urban search for missing individuals.
