An old part of Franconia, Guilford can be found intersecting both Kingstowne and Rose Hill. While many communities have begun to flow with these modern times, Guilford has managed to maintain its idyllic feel.
Guilford can be found north of Telegraph Road, east of South Van Dorn Street, west of Rose Hill Drive and south of Franconia Road. It is characterized by small, disconnected homes situated in large land areas (half-acre lots are quite commonplace), with some homes occupying as much as two lots.

Virginia Hills, in the Groveton area of Franconia near Alexandria, may be in Fairfax County but the residences here have an Alexandria postal address. The area was established in the sixties and seventies and the homes there are characterized by their brick exteriors and outside yards. Inside you’ll find that most of the properties have hardwood flooring and finished basements.
Virginia Hills is serviced by 2 nearby schools, West Potomac High School and Groveton Elementary School.

Brookland Estates, in the Rose Hill area of Franconia, is a community of single-family homes with larger than average lots for this part of Virginia. The area also benefits by being close to the Van Dorn Metro station and Washington DC is close enough for commuters. Brookland Estates can be found just outside the Beltway at the Van Dorn Exit.

Founders Walk is located just outside the Beltway off Van Dorn via Oakwood. It’s close enough for a long walk to the Van Dorn Metro and has great access for commuters headed to the Beltway or Alexandria. The neighborhood is quiet and well-maintained, surrounded by new and nearly new condos.
These condos are very nicely sized. You won’t find yourself making a compromise on size at Founder’s Hill. With newer kitchens and appliances, these are very nice condominium homes.
The parking is generous compared to many homes in and near Franconia or Kingstowne.
