selling homes: New Student Enrollment For Fall - Pinellas County Schools - 01/14/08 01:12 AM
Do you have students in the Pinellas County School System? If you do, you will be interested in this information which concerns the 2008-2009 school year. Starting February 11th you can begin applying for special programs at magnet and fundamental schools.
If you are new to the county, you can contact the Family Education and Information Center to get an ID for your student. This ID is necessary to begin the application process for the Fall, including choosing a 'close to home' school, which is something new starting in the Fall Term.
There will be an information fair on February 2nd … (0 comments)

selling homes: Litter Box Blues - 12/21/07 02:57 AM
Here we go again - those homes that are really not ready to be shown! When we walked in the door I could smell it - and unfortunately so could my client! We looked at each other and said, 'well, we know they have cats'. What we did not know is that they had 3 of them (at least that is what we saw - who knows how many may have been hiding) -
Judging from the litter box in the laundry room, they may have had dozens of cats - or that litter box had not been cleaned in weeks … (0 comments)

selling homes: Showing Ruined By Barking Dog - 12/12/07 07:43 AM
I was out showing townhomes recently and everything was going well - the neighborhood is beautiful and well manicured! The complex is brand new and has the latest in gym equipment in the expansive clubhouse. The pool is unbelievably large and they even have a separate kiddie pool! The complex is less than 5 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico.
This 3 bedroom/2.5 bath beauty was reasonably priced, had only had one owner who took care of it and had everything freshly painted! We walked in to a beautiful home with 18" diagonal tiles, granite countertops, enormous bathroom - and the … (5 comments)

selling homes: Moving? Remember That Some Charities Pick Up!!! - 11/09/07 08:17 AM
Moving? Remember that depending on where you are located, some of the various charities do have trucks that pick up those large household items that you are willing to donate rather than move.
Depending on how far you are moving you might want to donate a lot of larger items. I recently had a couple moving to Tennessee that were considering not taking any furniture at all with them. It costs so much to move those larger items these days!!!
Depending on your location, Hospice and Goodwill Industries both have trucks that come to your home to pick up those items! … (6 comments)

selling homes: Non-Resident Alien Purchasing and Selling in Florida - Tax Questions - 09/24/07 12:44 PM
I am currently working with a couple from England who own a home outside of Orlando. They purchased it six years ago and want to sell it and purchase something in Venice (just south of Sarasota). The problem is that 10% tax that our government takes when non-resident aliens sell property.
Here is my question: Since he is selling the home (for $300,000. or less) and using the funds to purchase another home here in Florida, is there any way he can circumvent that 10% tax??? Obviously, he does not work here; he is a semi-retired police officer who spends 3 … (20 comments)

selling homes: MOVING??? THINK OF HOSPICE ! - 09/02/07 11:28 AM
Moving in or out of a home? This is usually a time when we also decide that there are SO MANY things that we really no longer need and don't really want to move with us. What to do? I have seen many people throw everything from blenders and toasters to sofa pillows and bookshelves into the dumpster. Things that are in really good shape, but they don't want to be bothered with them.
I am sure we have all heard of HOSPICE and the good that they do for everyone across the board! They offer help to ANYONE that is facing a terminal … (4 comments)
