Did you know that a 100 watt incandescent bulb left burning one year would cost about $87 and an equivalent fluorescent bulb of 13watts ( same amount of lumens ) would be $21 for the year. Fluorescent bulbs may cost more ( about $8 ) but they can last for 10000+ hours versus about 750 hours for a regular bulb. I use a fluorescent to work by.
