clarkesville: Helen Ga Real Estate Homes " Do I earn too much too much for the 2009 Tax Credit?" - 05/08/09 12:56 AM
The American recovery and Reinvestment Act which was passed on Feb. 17, 2009 is available for homes purchased on January 1st, 2009 and before December 1st 2009....(KEEP that date in mind).  This tax credit does not have to be repaid.  The tax credit is equal to 10percent of the purchase price for our home, up to a maximum of $8,000. Now, if you purchased a home in 2009 before you knew about this, and have already filed your taxes, you can consider doing an amended return to collect on this.  Of course you have to be sure you are qualified.  And … (0 comments)

clarkesville: Helen Ga Real Estate "Get Me to the Church on Time" - 10/31/08 03:27 AM
Just a reminder to turn back your clocks on Saturday evening.  Otherwise you will be the early arrival at Church!  Now, if you are going to Church in the northeast Georgia area, try visiting Clarkesville, just a few miles from Helen.  Clarkesville has many Churches for you to attend, but you may want to consider Grace Calvary Episcopal for either the 8:30 am service of the 11:00 am service.  WHY?  Because after the service there is a huge "Happening"!
What is the Happening?  Heritage Festival, the celebration of the history of Clarkesville and our Church built in 1842.  On Saturday morning from 10-4 … (0 comments)

clarkesville: Helen Ga Real Estate "Are You Here Yet?" - 10/30/08 05:03 PM
If you are coming to Helen for the weekend, you will enjoy color and good weather!  The trees are turning and there are riots of color to enjoy.  Reds, Yellows, Oranges, Golds mingle with the remaining green leaves for a great display.  Looking at the Blue Ridge Mountain ranges you will see sights worthy of autumn.  Bring your camera, light jacket and a container to take home some fall leaves to display with your pumpkins for Thanksgiving.  You will need a weekend to enjoy Helen, Batesville, Sautee, Lake Burton, Cleveland and Clarkesville.  If you are fortunate enough to own a motorcycle, … (0 comments)

Yes, the foilage is beautiful.  If you visit Helen, or surrounding areas of Batesville, Lake Burton, Clarkesville, Cleveland, Sautee-Nacoochee or Dahlonega, you will indeed see some beautiful colors.  Here in the Helen area, you have two more days of jacket weather  It is 10:30 am and the temp is still under 50 degrees, going up to only 57, if the weather wizards are to be believed!  The weekend will be somewhat warmer, but keep that jacket and hat in the car!
On the Chattahoochee river it is a little warmer and the trees turn a little more slowly than inland and on … (0 comments)

clarkesville: Helen Ga Real Estate Homes "This Week in Helen" - 10/27/08 04:28 AM
Okay, today is still a great day to visit, but you may think it is March, not October.  Wind gusts make you want to think about flyiing a kite today.  But today is warm compared with the weather wizards predicitions for the next few days.  We may even get our first freeze here..frost on the Pumpkin?  YES!  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be the coldest days WWs say, making for a more comfortable weekend.  Don't forget your heavier jackets and hats for the children if you are coming up this week.  Be sure you don't forget to pick up some pumpkins.  … (0 comments)
