Saturday Staging Feature: I Had a Designer, Why Get It Staged?
So sorry, I'm a day late with my Saturday Staging Feature.  That doesn't make it any less important!  Take a look at this week's "installment".
Typically you hire a Designer to decorate your home to YOUR taste.  When you hire a Home Stager, you are preparing your home for sale.  In this case you want your home to be neutral, welcoming to everyone and not "taste specific".  A professional Home Stager will accentuate the features of your home to attract a buyers attention.

Saturday Staging Feature: Making the Master Bedroom Memorable
Maureen Bray, a professional Home Stager in Portland Oregon, shares BEFORE and AFTER photos of 3 master bedrooms that benefited from Home Staging.
In the case of the vacant rooms, staging helps the potential buyer to make an emotional connection to the space.  They can imagine "living" in this room.
The third bedroom doesn't look like a master bedroom.  It's crowded with 2 beds, and the room has no character.
Is your master bedroom a retreat?

Sunday Selling Tips: If it helps you sell, it's worth it!
When you are selling your house, you want it to look it's best.  Sometimes BEST is not in the budget.  If you don't have the money, then you must invest the time.  There is much that can be done that costs little, but makes a considerable difference in how quickly you will sell your home and for how much.
Janice Ankrett, a professional Home Stager in Burlington, Ontario, Canada makes strong recommendations and she backs up these tasks with statistics from HomeGain regarding the ROI (return on investment).

Saturday Staging Feature: Is Your Front Door Showing It's Age?
What's the first thing a potential buyer is going to see?  Your backyard?  Don't think so.  The master bedroom?  Not likely.  Maybe the kitchen?  Think again!  The first thing a potential buyer will see is the OUTSIDE FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE!  Whether in person, or paper, or Internet.  Curb appeal is critically important.  It sets the stage for the "tour" of your house.  If they don't like the outside appearance, they will be skeptical on the inside.

Saturday Staging Feature:  Staging a Vacant Home
Maybe you've been renting your property and you've decided you don't want to be a landlord any more, so you decide to sell the house.  Maybe the renters have moved out and the house is vacant.
Maybe you decided to build a new construction home and it's ready but you haven't sold your previous residence.  You move to your new house and leave the other house that you are selling empty.
Maybe you relocate to another city or state due a job relocation.  You've moved and the house you are selling is vacant.

Hi Donna, Will Staging My Home REALLY Make a Difference?
This is a GREAT question.  When I first got my license I would have made the argument that it didn't matter.  Shame on me!  Of course the market was different then, but I didn't have enough experience to truly understand the difference it would make.
My first big clue happened several years ago.  We had a vacant listing on the other side of town.  Our sellers had long ago moved out and they had been renting the property.  It was a nice little ranch style home in a great neighborhood.  Unfortunately, … (11 comments)
