the foerster team: Lessons Learned: Blue Countertops

Lessons Learned: Blue Countertops When you buy a new construction home you get to pick the cabinets, flooring, paint color, finishes, fixtures. You can go with the builder basics to keep costs down, or you can choose upgrades. All the decisions can be overwhelming. On the other hand, it can be a lot of fun "customizing" all of these things to make the house you are buying in to your HOME. When we bought our first new construction home (now we are experienced, we've done this twice), we didn't do very many upgrades. We went very basic. Oak cabinets. Beige carpeting (with an upgraded

the foerster team: We Make A Great Team
- 02/22/17 12:35 PM
We Make A Great Team I've been a Realtor for 13 years. I started with a big box company and it was a great place to get my feet wet. They were very supportive of new agents and their major strength was education. After 8 years, I moved to a small boutique company. It was a big change and one that didn't really work out. It lasted 2 years and then I made my final move to a mid-size, Colorado based company. I've been with Cherry Creek Properties for 3 years. During all the time, one thing remained constant and it's the one

We KNOW The Local Market What sets us apart from the competition? We KNOW the local Real Estate market. We not only WORK in Douglas County, we live, shop, eat and play here! We are involved in the community through the Chamber of Commerce, the local Rotary club and charitable organizations. We attend town council and planning commission meetings. We want to be "in the know" about upcoming projects and economic development that can have an impact positive or negative on the market. We are currently experiencing some growth in Douglas County. We have new construction, both residential and commercial. We

- 09/12/13 06:55 AM
Perfecting My Elevator Speech In mid-August I wrote a blog post, Not a Big Fan of Scripts...with One Exception. I do believe that one must be ready at all times with an introduction, their elevator speech, if you will. After 10+ years in the RE business, Rich and I are focusing on a new niche market. Well, new to us. Rich got his SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) designation and CSHP (Certified Senior Housing Professional) designation and I am working on my CSHP. With our new focus, we need an updated elevator speech. I've made a few revisions since last

Wacky Wednesday: There are some CHARACTERS in our office! I've always thought it would be fun to have a caricature done. In June, during the annual Parker Days Festival hosted by the Parker Chamber of Commerce, we finally had the opportunity! Unfortunately I didn't plan very well, and we were dressed in our "play clothes" because we were volunteering the day we had the caricature done, oh well! I'm still happy. It took some time to find the right person to matt and frame it for us. It's unbelieveable how expense that can be. A few weeks ago we hung

Business Spotlight: Swirls Frozen Yogurt When I need a mid-afternoon treat, I visit Swirls. What could be better than peanut butter and chocolate soft serve yogurt swirled together in my own personal sundae? The best thing about Swirls? Apart from being in my building (so it's extremely convenient), I can make my own personalized sundae. Not only can I pick the flavors, but I can pick how much I want of each one. (Ah, the power of self serve!) I could make a sundae with all the flavors if I wanted to! (I'm getting a belly ache just thinking about

the foerster team: Real Estate Q&A: Is it a Buyer's Market or a Seller's Market
- 08/05/12 09:35 AM
Real Estate Q&A: Is it a Buyer's Market or a Seller's Market Great question. We are faced with a somewhat unique situation. Low inventory. What does that mean? It means that we have fewer homes on the market, available to buy, then we've seen in recent years. This creates an almost balanced market. It's a great market for buyers in terms of interest rates and home values. You might be expecting (as a buyer) to get a "deal" on your next home purchase. That's not likely going to happen. You will get a good value for your money, but it

Sunday Selling Tips: Preparing Your House For Sale Preparing your house for sale can be a daunting job. If you break down the preparation in to smaller "bite sized" tasks and may create less stress and frustration for yourself. Valerie Zinger, a Real Estate professional in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, suggested starting with your guest bedroom. For some, this room can become a catch all of items that don't have a proper place otherwise. What about the closets? Potential buyers will look at every square inch of the house they are considering to purchase. That includes kitchen cabinets, basement crawl spaces, garages

Business Spotlight: Parker Pedicab Meet Mark Lane and Anny. Mark is the pedicab driver and Anny, well...she's the pedicab! Her name was inspired by the song The Weight by The Band. The lyrics might explain, "Take a load off Anny, take a load for free..." Seems appropriate, doesn't it? I met Mark and Anny, as Mark was leaving the Parker Chamber of Commerce office. (My office is on the 3rd floor of the same building.) Mark "introduced" me to Anny and told me they'd be out and about in downtown Parker. The idea of a pedicab service came to Mark and

Where Is The Best Place To Get Pizza in Parker, Colorado? I'm originally from New York, therefore my favorite pizza is New York style. Makes sense, doesn't it? Whatever your preference ~ pan pizza, Chicago style (I recommend Granelli's), take 'n' bake, brick oven pizza ~ you'll find it in Parker! Dine in or take out at the local Pizza Hut. (The Parker Pizza Hut features a lunch buffet, Monday-Wednesday for $7.99). Prefer delivery? We've got Papa John's and Blackjack Pizza. Want carryout? Order from Little Caesars or Papa Murphy's.
