When you buy a new construction home you get to pick the cabinets, flooring, paint color, finishes, fixtures. You can go with the builder basics to keep costs down, or you can choose upgrades. All the decisions can be overwhelming. On the other hand, it can be a lot of fun "customizing" all of these things to make the house you are buying in to your HOME.

I've been a Realtor for 13 years. I started with a big box company and it was a great place to get my feet wet. They were very supportive of new agents and their major strength was education. After 8 years, I moved to a small boutique company. It was a big change and one that didn't really work out. It lasted 2 years and then I made my final move to a mid-size, Colorado based company. Canterberry Crossing (also know as Villages of Parker) is a golf course community of 2700+ single family homes and small group of townhomes (Creekside West), located off of Mainstreet in Parker, Colorado.
Builders in the neighborhood include Beazer, David Weekly, DR Horton, Engle, Meritage, Pulte, Standard Pacific (now Cal-Atlantic), Richmond American and Village Homes. Toll Brothers is currently building off of Canterberry Parkway.
The community has its own pool. There are a few parks and trails in the area also.

What sets us apart from the competition? We KNOW the local Real Estate market. We not only WORK in Douglas County, we live, shop, eat and play here! In mid-August I wrote a blog post, Not a Big Fan of Scripts...with One Exception. I do believe that one must be ready at all times with an introduction, their elevator speech, if you will.
After 10+ years in the RE business, Rich and I are focusing on a new niche market. Well, new to us. Rich got his SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) designation and CSHP (Certified Senior Housing Professional) designation and I am working on my CSHP.

I've always thought it would be fun to have a caricature done. In June, during the annual Parker Days Festival hosted by the Parker Chamber of Commerce, we finally had the opportunity! Unfortunately I didn't plan very well, and we were dressed in our "play clothes" because we were volunteering the day we had the caricature done, oh well! I'm still happy.

When I need a mid-afternoon treat, I visit Swirls. What could be better than peanut butter and chocolate soft serve yogurt swirled together in my own personal sundae? The best thing about Swirls? Apart from being in my building (so it's extremely convenient), I can make my own personalized sundae.

Great question. We are faced with a somewhat unique situation. Low inventory. What does that mean? It means that we have fewer homes on the market, available to buy, then we've seen in recent years. This creates an almost balanced market.
