Throwback Thursday: Men at Work

I shared this photo a few years back when it was originally taken. Our son (on the ladder) and his family had just moved in to a new house and they were hanging curtains in their family room. Grandpa (in the background) and our youngest (at the time) grandson lent a helping hand.

Three generations of "Men at Work". Never saw it before (in our family) and will probably never see it again! It's a cherished memory!

Throwback Thursdays: Variety Shows

I miss the varity shows that were so popular when I was growing up. The Carol Burnett show always made me laugh. Loved Carol, Vicki Lawrence, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman and Lyle Waggoner. The show started in 1967 and lasted for 12 seasons. The skits with Mr. Tudball and Mrs. Wiggins (Tim and Carol) made me laugh out loud!
Sonny and Cher also had a fun variety show, with regular skits. I loved the outrageous costumes that Cher would wear.
I'm not sure variety shows will ever make a comeback. Folks seem to prefer reality television … (27 comments)

Groups to Join: Throwback Thursdays

In November, I'll be hosting a major blogging challenge. I say it's major because it will require writing 30 ORIGINAL posts, every day for 30 days! That's a lot of blogging, particularly if you aren't doing it now. In an effort to help folks with ideas and topics, I thought I'd share some of the fun groups I've found in the Rain.
Today I'm featuring Throwback Thursdays.

The posts in this group generally revolve around a photo from way back when and a story to go … (16 comments)

Throwback Thursday: Play Ball!
When I still worked in Corporate America (1993), our company had several co-ed softball teams. They were department based and we would play against each other. I was never very good, but I enjoyed the fellowship and the chance to HIT the dang ball! I usually played catcher, or right field. I was a decent hitter and hated to run the bases, but loved to score that run!
You can tell we didn't have any fancy uniforms, or team sponsors. It didn't matter. It was good, clean fun!

Throwback Thursday: Riding My Bike

I loved to play outside when I was a kid. I can still remember my parents saying, "come inside when the street lights come on".

I was 2 1/2 when this photo was taken. My favorite bike was my Schwinn with the banana seat and the huge basket on the front. Those were the days!

Do you remember your first bicycle?
