The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has been promoting their homeowner's assistance program this week to bring about awareness of these programs which have been in place for almost 25 years. REfinance to an Affordable Loan (REAL) offers 30 year fixed mortgages to those who are less than 59 days past due on their current mortgage. These refinanced loans are at a fixed rate and could include up to 100% financing. There are eligibility requirements and all of the information, including a rate sheet and a list of participating lenders is available on the REAL website. There is some help available for Pennsylvanians who are facing foreclosure. PHFA, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, which was created 35 years ago to provide affordable housing for older adults, families & individuals of modest means and persons with disabilities, is offering assistance under ACT 91 of 2003.
