Daylight saving times was started during World War I in order to save energy for war production by taking advantage of the later hours of daylight between April and October. In 1966, Congress pass a the Uniform Time Act which required and standardized the length of Daylight Saving Time.

In general we are not seeing the Foreclosure and Distressed Properties entering the Metairie / Kenner market in the last quarter of 2014. Up until 2007 as Realtor I would not even use Foreclosure data for

Closing day seems to come very fast. To help prepare for the big mover here are a few tips for a smooth transition. My biggest tip is to file for the Homestead Exemption as soon as possible. Usually this will occur about 4-6 weeks after the Act of Sale. In Jefferson Parish you will need the recorded Act of Sale paper work.
