google search: Video + Google = Eyeballs - 12/30/08 05:55 AM
I've posted several times in the past about Google’s universal search initiative and the promise that it has for website video SEO. In addition to YouTube videos being shown in Google search with thumbnail, other video sites are successfully showing thumbnails in the SERPs as well including Metacafe,Videojug and others. Often times, our videos appear on page one WITH thumbnails - and in some cases, more than once!
It's a fact that on a page with all text, the eye gravitates towards images, and right now, the ONLY images on the entire page are generally thumbnails for videos!

YouTube Has Speech-to-Text Functionality.....and it Works YouTube has introduced rich metadata into select videos, which will significantly impact how online video is discovered and consumed. 
YouTube applies a technology in which automated spiders "listen" and transcribe the words in the audio track of a video.  This transcription, in the form of metadata, is embedded into the video.   
Hopefully this will lead to the transcription and searchability of narrated real estate videos in popular search engines, such as Google.
NOTE:  This technology is currently being shown on Google Labs.  it's just a matter of time before it trickles down to everyone. … (7 comments)
