A. When the finish is starting to wear through or is completely worn off in certain areas. Also if the floor has an over abundance of scratches and gouges in it. If the sheen of the floor has become dull and lifeless, a refinish or just a recoat could be in order. This will protect the flooring investment and keep the home looking beautiful. Perhaps though the homeowner just wants a change of color on their floor, a different stain on the hardwood floor can dramatically change the apperance of the interior.
